Visiting the Center
The trails, restrooms and gardens at the Randall Davey Audubon Center and Sanctuary are open Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Watch birds visit our bird feeders, or walk the trails and enjoy the beauty and serenity of the 135-acre wildlife sanctuary. The visitor’s center is typically open 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., but we still have some gaps in our volunteer coverage. We appreciate your patience. Free bird walks are conducted every Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Please note that we are closed holiday weekends and in January. The Center is located at 1800 Upper Canyon Road, Santa Fe.
Historic House Tours
Step back in time as you stroll through the old Santa Fe style home of the artist Randall Davey (1887-1964). This docent-led tour will give you an opportunity to view some of Davey’s most spectacular works of art, as well as a beautiful collection of Spanish Colonial and European antiques. About Randall Davey, Audubon Southwest, and Sangre de Cristo Audubon
Randall Davey Audubon Center and Sanctuary is a 135-acre property located at 1800 Upper Canyon Road, about 3.3 miles east of the Santa Fe city center (unpaved road for final 0.5 mile). It was transferred as a gift from the heirs of artist Randall Davey in 1983 to the National Audubon Society, and is now owned and operated by Audubon Southwest. –more on RDAC history
Audubon Southwest is the National Audubon Society’s region comprising Arizona and New Mexico. Its staff and operations in New Mexico are centered at Randall Davey Audubon Center and Sanctuary, and in Arizona at Appleton-Whittell Research Ranch and Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center.
Sangre de Cristo Audubon Society is an all-volunteer Audubon Chapter. We support programs at Randall Davey and National Audubon, and receive National Audubon funding. Our members are Audubon members residing in north-central New Mexico.
