Volunteering

Many of our efforts focus on educating the public and advocating for a wide variety of environmental issues in northern New Mexico, from protecting endangered species and their habitats to promoting dark skies and water conservation. Whether you’re an experienced birder, a birding novice or simply have a passion for the Earth and its diverse plant and animal life, your skills, expertise and energy could help us broaden our reach and become even more effective in any number of ways.

There are opportunities to help at many different levels of participation. If you would like to volunteer for a specific role or for our efforts in general, please email Tom Jervis at jervidae@cybermesa.com. There’s room to put your individual stamp on this key role, which also involves contacting potential presenters and arranging dates an times for them to appear in person or via Zoom. The chapter is involved in many different environmental issues in northern New Mexico, from protecting endangered species and their habitats to promoting dark skies and water conservation.

If you’re interested in this position or another on the chapter board, or think you might be, please contact Gordon Smith, gordonsmith@sbcglobal.net, 505-270-8866.
