Events with the Sangre de Cristo Audubon Society

Field Trips and Events

At this time we have resumed our live field trips and evening programs in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. Masks are currently optional at our events. However, changes in the status of any outbreak may require us to make changes in our policies in the future. Please check here for any updates.

Field Trips

Sangre de Cristo Audubon Society field trips are designed to promote understanding and appreciation of wildlife and their habitats. Our aim is to cultivate awareness of outdoor ethics in an atmosphere of friendly companionship. The field trips are free and open to the public. The trip leader should be contacted for meeting time and location details as cancellations can occur for a variety of reasons. Include the name of the field trip in the subject line. A lack of interest up to two days before the scheduled time may prompt cancellation.

Evening Programs

Meetings with illustrated talks on birds, conservation and other topics concerning the natural world are held in February, March and April and again in September, October and November at 7:00 PM. Live programs are held at Randall Davey Audubon Center in Santa Fe, but some programs are held via Zoom only. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge. A brief update of environmental issues and chapter activities precedes each program. To sign up for email invitations to our programs and other events, please click here.

Randall Davey: Bird Walks and More!

Randall Davey Audubon Center

The trails, restrooms and gardens at the Randall Davey Audubon Center and Sanctuary are open Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Watch birds visit our bird feeders, or walk the trails and enjoy the beauty and serenity of the 135-acre wildlife sanctuary. The visitor’s center is typically open 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., but we still have some gaps in our volunteer coverage. We appreciate your patience. Free bird walks are conducted every Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Please note that we are closed holiday weekends and in January. The Center is located at 1800 Upper Canyon Road, Santa Fe.

 Historic House Tours

Tours are held every Friday at 2:00 p.m. Cost is $5 per person. Please reserve your spot by calling 505-983-4609 X28, or click here for more details. Thank you and stay healthy!
